Annanagar Tower

Annanagar Tower is located in the city of Tamil Nadu in Chennai. Annanagar Tower is also known as Visveswaraya Tower, it is 138 feet (42 meters) long. In the year 1968, for the World Trade Fair, B. s. Anandagar Tower was constructed by Abdur Rahman. There are cyclic staircases to climb on the Annanagar tower. The main entrance of the Annanagar Tower is connected to the 3 main roads. There is also an ancient Tamil martial arts farm which is a group of exercise in Silambattam. The unprecedented view of the entire city can be seen from the top of the tower.

Amir Mahal is a famous tourist destination in Chennai, the city of Tamil Nadu. This palace is spread over 14 acres. The Arakote dynasty was owned by the palace in 1870 AD. This palace is located in Tripaliken (Chennai) which can be visited only after getting admission permission in the palace.

This is a tourist destination of Chennai city. It contains species of mammals. Apart from mammals, there are also different species of birds and reptiles. In this zoo, a variety of animals can be seen moving in those free environments.



Chengalpattu

Chengalpattu is a fortification town on the beach in Madras (present-day Chennai). There is a double block in one side of the fort and the lake and swamps on three sides. From here on the 5 miles (about 8 km) the hill is the famous 'Bird Tirtha' of the South. There is also Lord Shiva's temple and 'Jatayukunda' on the hill. Jatayukunda is said to belong to Gitanjara Jaitay of Ramayana. Below the hill are 'Shankhitirtha'. In the very early days of the 1857 independence movement, this place became the haunt of revolutionary and secretive proceedings and meetings. In July 1857, two Hindu temples - one small Chengalpattu, three miles southwest of the city, Manipakam and the other bigger, situated in Pallivaram in the north of Chengalpattu town, became the regional refuge for revolutionaries.

Historical place of Srivilliputhur Madras (presently Chennai) This place is remarkable for an ancient temple. This temple has been displayed standing idol of Goddess Saraswati, which is a specialty here. This station is 26 miles from Virudh Nagar junction. The city is one and a half miles away from the station. This is the birthplace of Lord Vishnu Kshetra Swami (Periyalwar). His daughter, Andal (Godamba), is considered as the incarnation of Lakshmi Ji. Here is the temple of Shri Rangji. Beautiful pictures of gods and goddesses are on the walls. Here is a statue of Shriram, Laxman, Janaki in a temple. In the Nija temple, there is a statue of Rangamannar (Vishnu) with Godamba. Shankar Ji's ancient temple is one mile away from this temple. There is the Rudra Lake. There is a temple of separate Parvathi in the temple itself.

  • Shree Venkateshwara Temple - 3 miles from here is a temple on the northwest of Srivenkeshwar hill.
  • Shankar Nayanar Coil - This station is 27 miles from Srivilliputhur. Shankar Narayan Temple is half a mile from the station. In it, half of the statue of Shiva is of Narayana. Shiva on one side and Narayana Murthy on the other.
  • Swayam Prabhartha - Kadayanallur station is 13 miles from Shankarnarayan Koyole. There is a Shriram temple on half a mile from there. Here is a huge statue of Hanumanji. Nearby is the lake. He has a 60-foot-long cave in the mountain. It is said that there was a troubled ape who came here from thirsty during the analysis. In this cave, he had seen Prabha from Tejaswini himself.

    Vedagiri is the name of a hill of 'bird tirtha' situated at a distance of 4 miles (about 6.4 km) from Madras (presently Chennai). According to legend, the establishment of the Vedas was done for some time on this hill by Lord Shiva's command. The Vedagiri hill is 500 feet high and its area is approximately 265 acres and the circumference is about two miles. The temple built under the hill is very famous and it is said that 'Upper', 'Sambandar', 'Arunagiri', 'Shankar' and other Mahatmas came here and had seen 'Bhakta Vatslaswar' and 'Tripura Sundari'. Here the temple built on Girishikh is very famous. Going down the summit, a cave temple is found, which is cut off from the same huge block section. That is why it is called 'Orukkal Pavp'. It has two verandas, each of which is surrounded by four heavy pillars. Within the pavilion there are many artifacts of the Pallava carpet (7th century AD). Vedagiri is also known as 'Brahagiri'.

    St. George's Fort is a historic building and it is different from the Mughals. Gray stones have been used in Saint George Fort. This fort was a barracks of British forces. The St. Mary's Church of the Fort is the oldest church in Madras. St. George's Fort is impressed that the original business center of South India of South East India was established in 1611 AD in Masulipatnam (Machilipatnam). In time, this center was taken to Madras and the fort was built there, which was currently preserved by the state of Tamil Nadu. St. George Fort In 1639 AD Francis Day, an employee of the British East India Company, established Madras (Chennai) with some land from the king of Vijayanagara. This fort was built here in memory of the patron saint of Britain. In 1641 AD, the site became the headquarters of the company in South India. In India it was the first fortified colony of the company. In 1746, it was captured by the French for the time and it was rebuilt at a great level when it was reclaimed in 1748 AD. That is why the English managed to successfully defend it from the French army attack in 1758-59. Haider Ali attacked this fort twice (1769 and 1780 AD). In time, this place was made the center of British administration in South India.
