Indira Gandhi National Human Museum located in the backyard of the big lake of Bhopal city of Madhya Pradesh, is situated in the approximately 200 acres of area on the Shell Peaks of Shyamala hill.

There are 32 shelters painted traditional and prehistoric in this museum. In the museum facilities, the types of houses in provincial forestry, mountains, coastal objects that reflect the types of housing that the original inhabitants of the forests, hills, coastal areas and other areas build or that are replaced by those areas and patterns of life of several fundamental societies of the country. The exhibition approves the continuous tradition of human development. The main tribal species include Toda, Barali, Bado, Kachari, Kota, Sowara, Gadev, Katiyak, Agiya, Rajwada, Karvy, Bhils huts, Bastar cart, Marians, wood of 110 feet, wooden sculpture, etc. as well. From time to time also several festivals are organized to present Mass-General to the human museum, heritage, popular songs, etc., organized by human groups from different areas. In March 1985, this museum was renamed and was known as the National Museum of Man. Then, in 1993, through the decision of a cabinet, the museum was named 'Indira Gandhi National Human Museum' on behalf of then Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi.
