Overview of Fatehgarh Fort Bhopal
Fatehgarh Fort Bhopal is one of the historical places of Madhya Pradesh, built in 1726 by a Dost Mohammad Khan on behalf of his wife Begum, Fateh. There is also a small mosque in the fort which is called Dhai Shidi Ki Masjid.
History of Fatehgarh Fort
About seven hundred years ago after the reign of King Bhoj, at the beginning of the seventeenth century, a brave Afghan arrived in Bhopal, whose name was Mohammed Khan. He was a descendant of Mir Aziz from the dirham of Afghanistan and originally came to the intention of the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb to join the army. For a few days, he also worked in the Aurangzeb army in Delhi, but after killing one young man, he became a fugitive. He fled Malwa and he Participated in the invasion of Syed brothers on Chanderi. Later, the man took money and started fighting for the people. In this regard, friend Mohammed was summoned by Queen Gond of Bhopal and, in exchange for help, Rani gave him a village of Mawza. After the death of Rani, in 1722, the friend Muhammad Khan captured Bhopal. He built the Bhawal Gardens near the broken cast of King Bhoja, and made seven doors in it, which were in the name of days of weeks. In 1726, the friend Muhammad Khan built 'Fatehgarh Fort' in the name of his wife Fateh.
Mosque of two stairs
A mosque was built in the Maghrib Burj of the fortress. In this small mosque, the Dost and his security personnel used to offer prayers. It is known as the smallest mosque in Asia, and its name is 'Dhai Sidhi ka Masjid'. It is very difficult to say why his name was "mosque of two stairs", because the two staircases are nowhere to be seen today; But perhaps when it has been done, a structure like a staircase with two stairs would have joined it. This is called the first mosque in Bhopal. However, some people call the Alamgir mosque the first Bhopal mosque. They believe that the places where Aurangzeb has passed, the mosques have been rehabilitated everywhere, and in that sense, his name should appear first.
If the facts are analyzed without believing in oral history, then the 'two-step mosque' will be called the first Bhopal mosque. This is where the series of mosques in Bhopal began. No special construction work was performed for a long time after the friend Mohammad Khan. Later, his grandson, Faiz Mohammad Khan, built a mosque near Kamala Mahal, near Lake Bhopal, which is known as 'Makbar Bari Masjid'.
