Binsar Mahadev Temple is a popular Hindu temple. The temple is located at a distance of about 20 km from Ranikhet. There is a large temple of Binsar Mahadev at an altitude of approximately 5005 feet on the picturesque banks of the Kunj River. Built at an altitude of 2480 meters above sea level or surface, this temple is surrounded by lush green cedar forests. This temple devoted to the Lord Shiva which was built in the 10th century. With statues embedded with Hindu deities in the form of Maheshmardini, Har Gauri and Ganesh, the architecture of this temple is magnificent. It is also said that this temple was built in one night.This temple was built by King Pithu in memory of his father Bindu. That’s why it’s called Bindeshwar Temple.
