Almora




Almora is one of the city of Uttarakhand states in India. It located on a side of Kumaon Himalayan range. Almora is born place of Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant, a freedom fighter of india and architect of modern India. King Kalyan Chand is founder of Almora City in year 1568. From the time of ancient epic Mahabharata, people were settled in surrounding of Almora’s Hills and its other places. Almora’s hills also is known as the place or residence place of Lord Vishnu. Almora is a city of historical as well as Hindu religious city. Swami Vikekananda also visited to Almora three times during his Himalayan sojourns.

Almora come under in Division Kumaon and located just in peak of hills and surrounding by hills so It is look very beautiful. River Koshi and Suyal flow at the foot of Almora city. Almora City’s market is very beautiful and very old made by cutting stones. There are many things to see in Almora some are temple, natural sites and forts.

Kasar Devi Temple - Kasar Devi is small village in Almora and famous for kasar Devi temple is located here. Kasar Devi village is a place where NASA America told about the gravity point and written GPS 8. This is very beautiful place and thousands of visitors come here from India as well as foreign country.


Nanda Devi Temple - Nanda Devi temple is 200 years old temple and statue of Nanda Devi located in Nanda Devi temple in 1816.


Pandu Kholi Almora - Pandukholi temple is a place where Pandvas stayed here in Mahabharata for some time and it is located near Dunagiri in Kumaon Himalayas


There are other many temples located in Almora as Shyayi Devi temple, Jakhan Devi temple, Pataal Devi temple, Raghunath Mandir, Banari Devi temple, Binsar Mahadev temple etc.
