About Lalit Kala Academy

Uttar Pradesh State Lalit Kala Academy was established on February 8, 1962 as a fully funded autonomous unit of the Culture Department of Uttar Pradesh Government. The academy is doing remarkable work in the art world which continues to advance towards the promotion and promotion of art and artists. The academy is located in the Lal Bahadur Bhavan on the Lalit Kala Academy road between the Chhatar Manzil and the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court in Lucknow.

History of Lalit Kala Academy

This building is an archaeological building which was constructed between 1778-1814. This is a significant specimen of architectural architecture. In the building of the Lal Bahadur, from Saadat Ali Khan to Wajid Ali Shah, the Darbar-e-Hall was decorated and their coronation also happened here. For this reason, this building was called Qamar-ul-Sadat (the palace of the Sultans). ISKA Construction was done by Saadat Ali Khan in the late 18th century.

This Darbar Mahal was so important and beautiful that the British compared it to its Darbar-e-Hall. After the independence, the first state museum was established in this building. After the transfer of the state museum to its building, the State Lalit Kala Academy was established in the year 1962.
