The Great Himalayan National Park

The Great Himalayan National Parkis located in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. The park extends over an area of 1,171 square kilometers, approximately 754.4 square kilometers. The rest of the area falls into the ecological zone. The Great Himalayan National Park became a natural world heritage on Monday, June 23, 2014. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) granted this status to the National Park at the 38th session held in Doha


World Heritage - The Great Himalayan National Park has received World Heritage status. The Kullu District National Park has been sealed by the UNESCO World Heritage Team. At the team meeting of UNESCO (Scientific and Cultural Educational Association of the United Nations) in Doha, Qatar, from June 15 to 25, 32 proposals were discussed. It has become the second heritage after the Kalka-Shimla railway line, which has this state. In March 2012, UNESCO nominated the Great Himalayan National Park. In each aspect sought on November 22, 2013, the state government prepared a proposal to declare it a World Heritage Site. Features - The Great Himalayan National Park extends over 90,540 hectares. The park area is 754.4 square kilometers in the central area, 265.6 square kilometers in the ecological zone and 61 square kilometers in the Tirthan Wildlife Sanctuary and 90 square kilometers in the Sainj Sanctuary. The park extends over an area of 1,171 square kilometers.


The park's mountain range includes Rakhundi Top, Ghumtarao, Tirthan, Patal, Mujoni, Kholipoi, Chadnithach.


In the Great Himalayan National Park, there are a total of three hundred species of wild animals of various species, including black bear, brown bear, musk deer, snow leopard, gorl, the rarest birds of the Jajurana and Monal chicken species Kokalas There are also many leopards here.


The aroma of medicinal plants of different species attracts visitors here. Like the nine types of frogs, amphibians live in water and land.


There are also 12 snakes and three species of birds in the Great Himalayan National Park that are on the verge of extinction in the world. They have been declared extinct in the Red Data Book.
