Chamba is a town in the Chamba locale in the province of Himachal Pradesh, in northern India. As per the 2001 Indian registration the town is arranged on the banks of the Ravi River (a noteworthy tributary of the Trans-Himalayan Indus River), at its juncture with the Sal River. Chambial were the Rulers of Chamba State. Chambials utilize postfix Varmans.
