Gorakhgad is a hill of the province of Maharashtra. Gorakhgad and Machinagaragar are seen as twins in Thane in Maharashtra. Gorakhgad has been arranged at a higher altitude than the Twin Fortress. History of Gorakhgad Fort

The stronghold is named after holy person Gorakhnath, who used to perform repentance here. It was utilized in the period of Shivaji Maharaj, chiefly as a stopover point from Junnar through Naneghat. The connecting Machindragad peak is named after the instructor follower relationship of Machindranath and Gorakhnath.

How to Reach Gorakhgad Trek Mumbai

One can get a ST transport from outside the Kalyan station. It takes around 45 minutes to reach Murbad. On coming to Murbad, one has the choice of taking another transport to Dehri town or one can procure a tum-tum (neighborhood transport). The voyage to Dehri town takes another 35-40 minutes.
