Some time ago, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, which is known as Prince Museum of Western India, is one of the main workmanship and historical museum in India. Located on the southern tip of Mumbai, on the 'Crescent site, the museum building is a nice case of the Indo-Saracenic style of architecture. Today this building has been registered as Grade I Heritage Building and it has been awarded '2010 UNESCO Asia - Pacific Heritage Award' for cultural heritage conservation. It has been given to the Heritage Building by the Indian Heritage Society for the first time to any historical site.
History of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya
Established in the mid-1900s, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya is one of the main cultural architecture of the country. On 14th August 1905, various noticeable persons of Bombay deposited in Town Hall and established a memorial for the visit of Prince of Wales (later King George V) as an open museum, which will be named after him. The meeting was attended by Sir Pherozeshah Mehta, Justice Badruddin Tyabji, Narottam Das Gokuldas, Justice Chandavarkar, Sassoon J. David and many different dignitaries went for a remarkable commitment in their separate areas and further proceeding for the advancement of the Bombay Island. The starting stone of the museum was laid down by the Prince of Wales in November 11, 1905, and the museum was named Prince of Wales Museum of Western India. For a long time people liked the need for a decent gallery in the city, in the end, the historic center was established by the common people commitment that was helped by the Bombay Presidency of the then Government.
As a historic center, this memorial was to be raised on the land plot known as the Crescent site at the southern end of the island. This building was finished in 1914, but it was opened for general society on January 10, 1922. Up to that point, it was used by the military for an emergency clinic and child welfare exhibition.
From that point many things have changed. Bombay is currently known as Mumbai and the name of Prince of Wales Museum of Western India has been changed to Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj's Vastu Sangharlal. Set against a well-spreading courtyard nursery, which still holds its unique system, the historic center is an important heritage of the city.

The museum is a 20-minute far away with walking from both the important railways, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (Central Railway) and Churchgate (Western Railway). You can get the museum by transport or taxi from the nearest stations

The huge accumulation of museum has been divided into various exhibits: sculptures, pre and proto-history, European paintings, natural history, miniatures, Jahangir Nicholson collections, Chinese and Japanese antiquity, Numismatics, textiles, decorative arts and print galleries. On the ground floor, any person can see pre and proto-history galleries and natural history areas. In the primary floor, the better works of art, improvements in manifestations, Nepali and Tibetan workmanship and Premchand and Roychand are displayed. The second floor has European drawings, hands and security.
Embroidery box of Mughal rulers, small Indian from expected painting, puppets of pottery from the Indus Valley, flower of a lot of Ramayana, coin of Chandragupta II, snuffed jugaad, Gandhara design from third century AD, Bronze statue of Maitreya Buddha, and The individual protective head layer is one of the things to find in Akbar's historic center. For better understanding of each of these demonstrations, specific kiosks are offered which encourage total data about performance in two bids: English and Hindi. In fact, even sound is helpful in seven different languages. From time to time, the historic center hosts courses, workshops and fleeting programs for guests.
