Vaishno Devi
Sansar Lake
Bagh–e-Bahu & Mahamaya
Situated in the heart of the Trikuta Mountains, Vaishno Devi is a famous cave temple and one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites dedicated to Goddess Shakti. Devotees begin their journey from Katra, which serves as the base camp for this shrine. During the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage, the atmosphere is filled with positive energy and deep devotion, pulsating to the rhythm of the incessant chants of "Jai Mata Di". It is widely believed that prayers offered at the shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi ensure that all wishes are answered. One of the highlights of this pilgrimage is a stop at Ardhkuwari—the place where, according to legend, Mata Vaishno Devi performed penance for about nine months inside the Garbhjoon Cave. Many devotees also choose to spend the night there to regain their strength before continuing their journey.
