Deccan Odyssey train is the super deluxe train that was started by the joint efforts of Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation Ltd.. Deccan Odyssey Train
Day 01 - Mumbai: The tour in Deccan Odyssey begins from Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra state. Mumbai, the commercial hub of the county and a city of dreams for the common man of India, was just a collection of islands about 300 years ago, The rich heritage of the city is preserved through its historical monuments and buildings. You board Deccan Odyssey at Chhatrapati Shivaji Railway Terminus in the evening and enjoy wine and dinner offered in the train.
Day 02 - Jaigad - Ganapatipule - Ratnagiri - Bhatye : On second day of your trip, the train halts at Ukshi station giving you a chance to visit the Rai jetty. You enjoy the boat ride to watch the beautiful sight of Jaigad Fort that lies on a cliff and overlooks the ocean. You also get the unique experience of the village life of the Konkan region. Later in the day, you drive to Ganapatipule, enjoying beautiful sceneries en route. Here, you visit the Ganesh Temple and the beach as well as enjoy delicious cuisines of Konkan region. Further, you drive to Ratnagiri, the region where last king of Burma was kept imprisoned. Here you get a chance to explore Lokmanya Tilak Smarak, Rtanaburg Fort and the Bhatye Beach.
Day 03 - Sindhuburg - Tarkali - Sawantwadi:On third day of your Maharashtra trip on Deccan Odyssey, you arrive at Sudhuburg Nagari station. You explore the tip of Konkan coastline and then get on a boat to reach Sundhuburg Fort. Nearly two-mile long walls of the fort offer you a chance to enjoy scenic views of the sea. Then you drive to pristine Tarkali Beach. You take your lunch at the Beach Resort before visiting the Tarkali Creek and the Sawantwadi. The gateway to Goa, Sawantwadi is known for Chitar Ali and Jagannathrao Bhosale Garden and Shilpa Gram village. Later in the evening, you board the train to Goa.
Day 04 - Goa : You arrive at Goa, famed all over the world for its perfect beaches and some fine colonial buildings. You explore the Old Goa and visit the ancient tourist sites of Basilica of Bom Jesus, the Church of St Francis of Assissi, etc. In Priol area, you visit the Mangeshi Temple. Later in the day, you get a chance to enjoy the boat cruise in Mandovi river. You also visit Fontanhas area in Panjim and Dona Paula Beach. In evening, you return to railway station and enjoy you dinner and wine on board.
Day 05 - Pune: Deccan Odyssey arrives at Pune railway station in the morning of day five. Pune served as the capital city for Maratha kings. After having breakfast, you drive to Phule Mandia, an old market that lies in the central region of Pune. After exploring the market, the next halt is at Rajar Kelkar Museum. The building of the museum is made in Rajasthani architectural style and houses some old artifacts dating from 17th to 19th centuries. Then you drive to Iyengar Yoga Institute, where people come to learn Indian Yoga. You enjoy your lunch at Taj Blue Diamond. Later in the day, you visit David Synagogue, Osho Ashram Commune, Aga Khan Palace, and the Tribal Museum. The evening is reserved for Shaniwarwada Palace for the interesting light and sound show. You return to railway station and enjoy the sumptuous dinner on board.
Day 06 - Aurangabad :In the morning of sixth day of your Maharashtra trip on Deccan Odyssey, you arrive at Aurangabad railway station. You enjoy breakfast and then drive to Daulatabad Fort on luxury coach. The same day, you visit the world heritage site of Ellora Caves, dating back to 7th to 14th centuries and featuring sculptures and paintings of various Hindu, Buddhist and Jain deities. You also visit Shivaji Museum, Bibi-Ka-Maqbara, and Aurangabad Caves. You return to railway station, enjoy meal on board, and get ready for your further journey on Deccan Odyssey.
Day 07 - Ajanta - Nashik: On second-last day of your Deccan Odyssey trip, you arrive at Jalgaon railway station. You enjoy breakfast and drive to Ajanta Caves. Dating back from 3rd to 7th centuries, these caves are known for the buddhist figurines and murals. After exploring the caves in detail, you return to railway station to board Deccan Odyssey which takes you to Nashik. Here you visit Sula Winery (Govardhan park) and enjoy wine. You return to station and board the train for Mumbai.
Day 08 - Mumbai : On eighth day of your tour, you reach Chhatrapati Shivaji Railway Terminus in Mumbai from where you started your trip. You enjoy breakfast before getting off the train with some unforgettable memories of your journey.
